Ward C. Belcher, Phi, 1904, was a successful businessman,
manufacturer and community leader.
As an undergraduate, Brother Belcher was captain of the NYU gymnastic team and a member of the baseball team. As a member of the founding family of Benjamin Moore Paint, he was vice president of operations and general manager of the paint manufacturer. He also served on Benjamin Moore’s Board of Directors and his son, Benjamin Moore Belcher,also a Zete from the Beta chapter at the University of Virginia, served as Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Belcher was active in his community and the Pathology Lab at Sharon (CT) Hospital
was named in his honor.
Belcher was dedicated to Zeta Psi throughout his life and was a member of the Zeta Psi
Club of New York.
