Ralph S. Rumsey, Xi, 1965 (1943-2017)

Ralph S. Rumsey, Xi 1965, Phi Alpha 1980-1982, was an internationally recognized legal expert in non-profit, tax exempt law. He practiced most of his career with the law firm he founded with another Zete,  Magill & Rumsey, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Ralph was a stalwart and major influence on the Xi chapter at the University of Michigan for over 45 years. He also served as Zeta Psi Fraternity and Educational Foundation’s General Counsel for more than 25 years, providing legal expertise to help the establishment of the Foundation’s Planned Giving program, the Zeta Psi Heritage Society.

During Ralph’s tenure as Phi Alpha, the University of California-Davis (Iota Delta) chapter  was chartered in 1981.

Ralph received Zeta Psi’s James H. McLaughlin Interfraternity Award and its the Distinguished Service Award from Zeta Psi in 1992 and 1996, respectively.
