Walter H. Moore

Walter H. Moore, Epsilon, 1865, Phi Alpha 1870-1871

Walter H. Moore, Epsilon, 1865, was a well-traveled minister who
served congregations throughout the mid-west and western portions of the United
States.

After graduation from Brown, Brother Moore became a bookkeeper for the
Chicago Tribune newspaper (1865-1868); but, from the beginning, knew he wanted to
be a priest. He graduated from the General Theological Seminary in 1871 and then led
congregations in Georgetown and Denver, Colorado; Vallejo and Naper, California; and,
Decatur, Quincy and Chicago, Illinois. He was a regular contributor to church publications.

During his tenure as Phi Alpha, he was proud to announce the chartering of the Iota
chapter at the University of California, Berkeley.
