Charles Turner
Charles Turner, Epsilon, 1855, Phi Alpha 1856-1857
Charles Turner, Epsilon, 1855, was a nationally recognized attorney who was the commencement orator at his Brown University graduation. He graduated from Albany Law School in 1857 and was admitted to the bars in Connecticut (1857), New York (1857), Illinois (1858), Alabama (1869) and the Supreme Court of the United States.
He served as Chancellor of the Middle Chancery of Alabama from 1870
to 1881 and practiced as a bankruptcy referee from 1898 until his death.
Brother Turner was a member of the same Epsilon graduating class as fellow Phi Alpha,
Charles Phelps, M.D.
