Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Sexual Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The goal of this month is for individuals and organizations to raise public awareness of sexual harassment, assault, and abuse and educate our communities on how to prevent it. Although our campuses are closed due to the current pandemic, many individuals may still be dealing with harmful relationships at home. Preventing sexual assault and abuse is everyone’s responsibility, and it is now just as important as ever for us to be looking out for our brothers, friends, and communities.

For those looking to get involved with SAAM at their chapters, Zeta Psi’s partnership with One Love is a great place to start. One Love provides many opportunities for remote education and have a number of weekly events that you and your chapter can get attend. Their philanthropic initiative, Yards for Yeardley, is also currently ongoing and is a great way to exercise, enjoy some fresh air (while socially distancing, of course), and raise funds for this important cause.

Another great way to get involved and spread awareness is through the 30 Days of SAAM Social Media Challenge. The #30DaysofSAAM Social Media Challenge is a month-long initiative that challenges individuals to share their experiences and stories on social media each day. Check the #30DaysofSAAM calendar for prompts and content ideas each day of the month.
