Theta Chapter Earns Prestigious Navy Status at the University of Connecticut
The Theta Chapter of Zeta Psi Fraternity at the University of Connecticut is proud to announce that it has been awarded Navy Status, the highest recognition conferred by the University’s Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Navy Status recognizes chapters that demonstrate exceptional achievement across the areas of scholarship, leadership, member development, community service, philanthropic engagement, organizational excellence, and adherence to the highest standards of fraternity values. The designation reflects a sustained commitment to creating a positive and meaningful experience for members while contributing to the University of Connecticut community.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication, character, and hard work of our undergraduate brothers,” said Dr Bob Kravecs, Theta Elders Association President. “Earning Navy Status reflects the countless hours our members have devoted to academic success, leadership, service, and strengthening our brotherhood. We are honored to receive this distinction.”
The achievement is the result of a collective effort by undergraduate members, alumni volunteers, university partners, and supporters who have worked together to foster a chapter culture built on excellence, accountability, and lifelong friendship.
Throughout the past year, the Theta Chapter has continued to emphasize academic achievement, campus involvement, philanthropic service, and leadership development while maintaining a strong commitment to responsible chapter operations. Receiving Navy Status affirms these efforts and serves as an inspiration to continue raising the standard for fraternity life at UConn.
The chapter extends its sincere appreciation to the University of Connecticut Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life for its guidance and partnership, as well as to the many alumni whose mentorship and support have helped shape the chapter’s continued success.
Founded in 1847, Zeta Psi Fraternity has a long tradition of developing principled leaders and fostering lifelong bonds of friendship. The Theta Chapter proudly carries forward that tradition at the University of Connecticut by striving to embody the fraternity’s ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and brotherhood. Active President Ryan Carmen, his fellow officers and all undergraduate brothers have done a fantastic job attaining this level of recognition.
As the chapter celebrates this milestone, its members remain committed to building on this success and continuing to make a positive impact on the University of Connecticut and the broader community.
