Stop Asian Hate
Zeta Psi condemns the murders of the eight victims of shootings in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this week, many of whom were Asian women. This summer Zeta Psi made a commitment to work toward better Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We categorically condemn racism and increased violence against the Asian, Asian-American, and Asian/Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. All acts of violence, racism, xenophobia, and misogyny are unacceptable. The members of Zeta Psi are of many backgrounds and ethnicities — and we stand in solidarity with our AAPI members and all those that have been adversely impacted by these recent events.
Zeta Psi expects all members to listen, learn, and continue the fight to end systemic racism. We strongly encourage our membership to engage in the following resources and share any additional information with us:
STOP AAPI HATE – Resource to report incidents of hate, violence, harrassment, and discrimination against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.
Covid Racism – Resource to report incidents of Anti-Asian racism in Canada.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Organization with the mission to advance the civil and human rights for Asian Americans and to build and promote a fair and equitable society for all.
Bystander Intervention Trainings – Advancing Justice-Chicago – Direct link to bystander intervention trainings
Dear Asian Youth: Youth Nonprofit – Youth lead global organization that promotes intersectional activism, solidarity with other marginalized communities, equality and equity.
Many current chapter leaders have completed a course in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion via EverFi. Any undergraduate member that would like to take that course may contact the Director of Membership Education, education@zetapsi.org, to be given access.
As always, if you want to partner with Zeta Psi, engage in this work, help in any other way, or need someone to talk to about your experiences, please complete the involvement form below.
