ZeteCon20 Big Brother Scholarship
As you may know by now, Zeta Psi’s 173rd annual convention will be in Seattle this coming August. Whether or not you have been to convention previously, or plan to attend this year, you may wish to consider supporting the Big Brother Scholarships Program.
Convention is often reported as a time of fellowship, networking and social events, along with the legislative process of the Grand Chapter meeting. However, the majority of time for the undergraduates is actually spent attending the Leadership Training Institute (LTI). Delivered by both professional staff and volunteers, programs include everything from budgeting and financial management to resume building and interviewing skills.
Each year, chapters select one delegate to attend convention on their behalf, and whose entire convention experience will be paid for. However, all other undergraduate attendees must fund themselves. This is where the Big Brother Scholarships enter, providing a pool of funds to support broader attendance to this seminal event in our fraternal calendar.
Each attendee averages $500 in registration, lodging and travel. Your $500 can be directed first to your own chapter’s attendees. Undergraduates apply for the scholarship, which includes their commitment to attend all LTI and Grand Chapter sessions.
A number of elder brothers have graciously continued their commitment to this program since its inception nearly 10 years ago, and some have chosen to support multiple scholarships. Their generosity is sincerely appreciated.
