Wright D. Heydon, Epsilon 1911, Distinguished Service Award recipient 1963. (1890-1973)
Brother Heydon was a successful real estate investor and manager as a partner and Secretary-Treasurer of the Central Real Estate Company, Inc., in Rhode Island. His home at 6 Harwick Road in Providence, which was built in 1929, is designated on the National Register of Historic Places.
Brother Heydon was a life-time supporter of the Zeta Psi chapter at Brown University and of Zeta Psi Fraternity. He served as the President of the Zeta Psi Association of Rhode Island for
almost two decades during the 1950s and 1960s. He also served as the chapter advisor to the Epsilon chapter for about 8 years during this time period. He was chairman of the 1952 Zeta Psi
convention when it was held at the Viking Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island. In 1931 he served the Grand Chapter as the Sigma Alpha.
Brother Heydon endowed a scholarship fund in the Zeta Psi Educational Foundation
with a gift of $275,000 in 1973. At the time, it was the largest single gift to the
Educational Foundation and would be valued at $1,685,400 in 2021 dollars.
