Jared Sunshine is a practice management attorney in the Litigation Department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Jared focuses on M&A regulatory approval and litigation in antitrust, securities fraud and commercial cases. He has comprehensive experience with expert witness preparation, class action practice, and privilege law. Jared regularly counsels clients on competition-related government investigations and market advocacy; Hart-Scott-Rodino Act requirements; and regulatory compliance before the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission and foreign competition authorities. Jared has also led teams in securities fraud lawsuits through initial motion practice, expert and fact discovery, and litigation. He has represented clients in a variety of industries, including financial services, pharmaceutical, healthcare, insurance, resource extraction, aviation, travel and shipping & freight, both in investigatory and litigation contexts. In 2014, he was a member of the case team that received Global Competition Review’s award for Matter of the Year.
Prior to joining Paul, Weiss, Jared interned in the chambers of the Hon. Denise L. Cote in the Southern District of New York. He previously worked for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in the Office of Economic Analysis under Chief Economist Lawrence E. Harris. Jared has been active in pro bono representations throughout his career and has been recognized as Empire State Counsel by the New York State Bar Association for his work.
Jared has also published articles on a variety of legal topics, including “Antitrust Precedent & Anti-Fraternity Sentiment: Revisiting Hamilton College” in the Campbell Law Review and “Seeking Common Sense for the Common Law of Common Interest in the D.C. Circuit” in the Catholic University Law Review. He continues to contribute frequently to prominent academic journals and practitioner publications.
A major supporter of Zeta Psi’s educational and leadership training programs, Jared has been a regular feature at Convention, Phis’ Conferences, and regional LTIs for over a decade. In 2014, Jared was inducted into “The Worthy” – demonstrating the highest level of ritual expertise attainable in Zeta Psi. Jared is also a recipient of Zeta Psi’s Order of Merit and Outstanding Alumnus awards.
