March UpZete

Dear Brothers,

March is one of those months where there is a huge separation between the activities of an Active and an Elder. For Actives, March is mid-terms and Spring Break. For Elders, it’s work and taxes. Actives – please study – developing intellect is a part of Zeta Psi’s mission and we want every Zete to be successful academically. Spring Break can be a great time, but please be safe. Our Zeta Psi values travel with us everywhere.

The IHQ is buzzing with activity, we have LTIs planned in Montreal, Charlottesville, and East Lansing, Michigan. We are hiring an Expansion Consultant (see the item below) and Convention Registration is open for Louisville 2017 on August 16-20. We are working to implement our ZeteForward program to every chapter, and we are in the process of restarting our chapter at Ohio State University.

If you want to help, we need it – and the place that we all can make the most impact is at our local Elder level. Even if you’re far away, technology today bridges the distance to a great extent. If you’d like to help and aren’t sure who to contact, reach out to me and I’ll make the appropriate introductions.

Faithfully yours in TKPhi,

Expansion Consultant
The expansion consultant is responsible for assisting in the development of Zeta Psi’s expansion initiatives. This staff member will focus on these developing groups in order to ensure that they have adequate access to all resources necessary for growth into a functioning chapter of Zeta Psi. In addition, this consultant will serve as a recruitment and new member education specialist for chapters that require assistance in these areas. This position is remote from Zeta Psi’s International Headquarters. The specific duties of the expansion consultant are as follows:
  • Work with a portfolio of assigned interest groups, colonies, and chapters to assist them in meeting their objectives.
  • Assist assigned groups in facilitating contact with local elders.
  • Through education and guidance, help the groups create a safe and compliant environment for members, guests, and the community in which they operate. This is vital for both prospective and established chapters of Zeta Psi.
  • Conduct in-person visits to each of these assigned groups at least once per semester, meeting with key members and appropriate university officials. Following this visit, a detailed report will be completed and submitted to Zeta Psi’s Senior Staff.
  • A commitment to prudent expense control.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate is an initiated member of the Zeta Psi Fraternity in good standing. The position requires an earned bachelor’s degree. The person must be eligible to work in the United States (Canadian residents may apply for work visa to qualify).

The position requires travel to assigned groups, the annual convention, LTIs, and occasional staff meetings. Weekend work is common, but compensatory time in the same week is permitted. When travelling more than a reasonable distance from their established home base, Expansion Consultants are expected to stay in an area hotel. Expansion Consultants are not permitted to sleep at a chapter house or student housing without the permission of the Director of Chapter Services.
