NIC Chapter of Distinction – Psi Epsilon Chapter at Dartmouth College

As a three-time consecutive recipient of the Gregory McElroy Chapter of the Year Award, the Psi Epsilon chapter has distinguished themselves not only through results, but through the systems and culture that make those results repeatable. In June, Psi Epsilon was honored by the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) with the Chapter of Distinction award

Josh Lee, Elder President shares, “The Psi Epsilon Chapter is honored to receive the Chapter of Distinction Award. We are even more grateful knowing that we were sponsored for this award both by Dartmouth College and Zeta Psi International, which reflects our Brothers’ commitment to building communities on campus and with other Zete chapters worldwide. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence, and forging even stronger partnerships with our active members, the Elders, the International HQ, and Dartmouth.”

This past year, Psi Epsilon continued to excel across all key areas of performance. Academically, they maintain a 3.76 GPA, well above their campus fraternity average, demonstrating that scholarship remains central to their identity. Their commitment to development extends beyond the classroom, with participation in fraternity educational programming significantly exceeding expectations and reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement. From an operational standpoint, Psi Epsilon exemplifies disciplined and responsible governance. The chapter achieved full financial accountability, including 100% dues collection and no outstanding obligations, while successfully recruiting and initiating 29 new members. This growth reflects not only strong demand but a thoughtful and values-driven recruitment process that prioritizes long-term chapter health.

Equally important is the chapter’s influence within the Dartmouth community. Psi Epsilon members are not passive participants; they are leaders. They hold positions across campus organizations, contribute to the Interfraternity Council, and remain actively engaged in athletics, outdoor leadership, and academic initiatives. Their presence enhances both the fraternity community and the broader campus environment.

“It goes without saying that Psi Epsilon is both incredibly excited and honored to have received the NIC Chapter of Distinction award” shared Jacob Bacus, Current Phi of Psi Epsilon. “A big part of making a Fraternity run smoothly is stepping up, and I think what makes Psi Epsilon truly unique is that every member steps up. We’re incredibly proud to receive recognition that we feel comes from individual efforts that have been going on for many years. Brothers will step up to fill leadership positions, volunteer at service events, or even just fix things around the house. Having these actions be acknowledged has really encouraged our chapter that all our initiatives are worth the time and effort. We look forward to growing even better!”

Psi Epsilon is not simply a high-performing chapter; they are a standard-bearer. They demonstrate what is possible when leadership, accountability, and values are fully integrated into the undergraduate experience. Their continued success strengthens Zeta Psi and serves as an example for chapters across North America.
