ZeteCon19 – Attendee’s Guide
Zeta Psi’s 172nd Annual Convention in Baltimore, MD is now less than one month away! For those who have already registered, here is a brief guide on what you can expect upon arriving in Baltimore. If you haven’t registered, be sure to do so prior to the registration deadline on August 7th.
Here is a preview of what’s to come in Baltimore:
Basics
Zeta Psi’s 172nd Annual Convention will be held in Baltimore from August 14 to August 17, 2019 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace. While all attendees can expect to receive a welcome packet on-site including schedule and course listings, some additional course materials too big for print will be added online in the coming weeks. We encourage all attendees to use the hashtag #ZeteCon19 when posting on social media during convention.
Dress Code
The convention, like any LTI, does have an expected dress code for specific events. Be sure to pack according to the week’s activities:
- Wednesday: Business casual, or tasteful Zete apparel
- Thursday: Business casual
- Friday: Seersucker (traditionally done on Thursdays), or business professional
- Saturday day: Casual
- Saturday night: Black tie optional
Zeta Psi Check In
When you arrive at the hotel, sign-in with IHQ staff at the Zeta Psi Check-In desk to collect your badge, schedule, and other check in materials. Without a convention badge, you will be unable to enter any of the paid events. The check-in desk will only be open from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily.
Schedule of Events
A schedule of events for the week will be provided to you with your Zeta Psi check in materials. The full hour-by-hour schedule will also be emailed to all registrants in the next couple of weeks. We encourage all attendees to save the schedule to their phones for use on-site.
A Note from the Membership Development Committee
We will have round table discussions this year as part of the Leadership Training Institute. Please come prepared to talk about our values and how they fit into different fraternity topics (e.g. recruitment). Other topics that will be covered will be professional development, leadership, event management, and mental health. Topics will benefit both the individual and their chapter, helping each grow and be prepared for the 2019/2020 academic year.
We will also have programming for alumni this year, with a focus on engagement and active event management.
Parking
Parking in Baltimore is expensive, especially at our hotel. We are working on alternatives and will keep you posted as additional options become available.
Final Note
Though Convention is a time to enjoy yourself and the company of your brothers, remember to be mindful of the hotel staff, property, and non-Zete guests.
