Summer Conference Madness

Tyler Boisvert and Johnny Surufka at the Fraternity Executive Association's annual conference.

Summer is often a period of respite for many in the post-secondary world. Students go home and get a break from school, faculty gets a short recess from the hectic college environment, and Zeta Psi staff gets to relax a bit until school picks up again in the fall…

We wish! June and July are actually some of the busiest months for those on IHQ Staff, as these months happen to be packed full of professional development opportunities for all involved. Not wanting to pass up on any opportunity to better serve our brothers, the IHQ staff team makes a concerted effort to attend as many relevant conferences and seminars as possible in order to stay up-to-date with current information, trends, and best practices in the Greek world. So far this summer, Zeta Psi staff has attended:

  • Durward W. Owen Risk Management College
  • FEA Field Staff Conference
  • Interfraternity Institute
  • Fraternity Executives Association Annual Conference
  • Interdisciplinary Institute for Hazing Prevention
  • Association of Leadership Educators Conference
  • Fraternal House Directors Conference

…and various other meetings, seminars, and retreats.

Staff at all levels have been fortunate enough to learn from, and collaborate with our peers in the fraternity and sorority world, as well as leaders from the post-secondary field at large. We’re excited to bring this new knowledge to the table next year in order to better serve our chapters, brothers, and communities.
